The Red Squirrel Plan was an attempt to pacify the Human race without placing the grays in view. The idea was to allow the Reds to show them their problem solving and cunning, and hopefully inspire the fascinated Human observers to develop some intelligence of their own.
The plan, needless to say, completey failed and instead of learning to mimick the Reds and copy their superior logic skills, they proceeded to try and develop more complicated problems and tests for the Reds. Instead of developing their own intelliect, as normal they proceeded to create more problems! To this day the Humans fail to find the inspiration in the animal world that we are trying our best to show them!
Finally the plan was abandoned. Some Reds had some fun, and broke into some science labs, designed their own mazes and tests and placed them in the scientists notebooks. The Reds then completed the tests the next day with absolutely no practice (being their designers), completely surprising the Humans who could not figure out the complex lever systems themselves!
The squirrel even made a clue note on the plans, writing "Design Of Squirrel" but the Humans still didn't get it!
A scientist (an unusually cunning one for a Human) called Gill Bates stole some of the Red lever systems and implemented them in a series of mechanisms and machines, and hid the levers inside a nice pretty exterior and pretended they weren't there, sold them, and made lots of money.

The reason for this is because most Wiggy Woos do not like the planet Earth, so frequently pretend Wiggys are used instead. |
Robot Squirrels are made of fluff, but have a synthetic skin. Robot Squirrels are therefore unable to change form in the way normal Wiggys can. Vexen is a Robot Squirrel who escaped from a Wiggy factory early on in the development of his cybernetic outer shell, and formed himself into the shapeform of a Human Being before he set.
They look and move exactly like normal squirrels but are robotic. They are used to carry out menial, monotonous or subversive tasks when it is too dangerous to send a real wiggy.
Road-kill Wiggies are an example of some of the dangerous p.r. missions that are always assigned to Robot Squirrels.
