This is the mistaken belief that two Humans 'fit' each other perfectly. Human Beings frequently restrict each other, limit their own emotions and try to prevent their partner from being happy; this way they feel that their partner will become insecure and will not seek out other partners.
Strangely, it seems nto work, and this is probably to do with stupidity. Monogamy is based on the belief that Humans are simple objects, devoid of emotion, honesty or unselfish love.
Most Humans do not know of any other type of relationship, and can only equate non monogomy as dishonest cheating. This opinion is only really reflective of its harborer, as poly circles do not involve cheating, and maturity & honesty is the foremost requirement.
Vexen says that the dominance of monogamy in the Human race is probably due to television, which is a mass marketed media designed to prevent Humans from devising their own amusement, games, skills, happiness or ideas.
